About this ebook

My husband hates me. But he’s also the only man who can save me.

Taken by a stranger, Santiago is my only hope. Except that I don’t know if he’s dead or alive. And for as cruel as he can be, the thought he might be gone is unbearable.

But he has nine lives, my monster.

He’s not finished with me yet. And soon I’m back at The Manor. Locked in my room. At his mercy.

I know I am despised.

I know I have become the face of his vengeance.

But there’s something else too. Something between us. It’s a dark and gnarled thing. And it has its claws around my heart.

I was having a hard time figuring out why I wasn’t connecting with this series, and there were moments in this book I thought I turned and was getting it, but alas, no. The premise, the storyline, the trope, all things I like, but the problem finally came to me. It wasn’t one thing, but, a few. One of them being the story was trying to be all twists and unexpected events and things coming to light, but it was just confusing for the sake of confusion, and it was boring. The main thing though was the male lead is actually physically abusive to the female lead on multiple occasions. He beats her, really beats her. She also suffers physical abuse, real abuse, at the hands of others. For me, that doesn’t make this a dark romance, it turns me away. I tried, once I thought he had maybe stopped being a complete a-hole, just reading the scenes with the two leads, but he was cruel for the sake of cruelty, and I didn’t care about him at all. He really is beyond redemption for me, and while I hope our female lead makes it out okay, it ends on a cliffhanger for her again, I won’t be finishing this series.

: 4.25 stars--REPARATION OF SIN is the second instalment the contemporary, adult SOCIETY erotic, dark, romance, organized crime trilogy co-author by Natasha Knight and A. Zavarelli focusing crime lord and Society member Santiago De La Rosa, and Ivy Moreno. WARNING: Due to the extreme violence, lack of consent and graphic nature of the story line content there may be triggers for more sensitive readers. NOTE: If you have not read book one there may be spoilers in my review. Told from dual first person perspectives (Santiago and Ivy) REPARATION OF SIN picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one REQUIEM OF THE SOUL in which Ivy is forced into an arranged marriage in payment for sins of the father. Imprisoned and struggling to keep her head above the proverbial water, Ivy Moreno-De La Rosa knows it is only a matter of time before her world comes to an end, a promise made by the monster she was forced to marry. Ivy is a prisoner whose life is about to become more violent and abusive as her husband returns demanding vengeance for presumed betrayal. What ensues is the violent and abusive relationship between Ivy and Santiago, and the fall-out as Ivy continues to face betrayal at the hands of her own. REPARATION OF SIN is another dark, gritty, and disturbing story line not meant for more sensitive readers. The relationship between Ivy and Santiago is abusive and heartbreaking as our heroine must endure the fall-out of her husband’s anger, rage, and misdirected pain but betrayal grows deeper from both sides. Knight and Zavarelli pull the reader into a difficult and distressing story of power, control, betrayal and hate. REPARATION OF SIN ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

OMG, my pulse is racing! Exhilarating! The book starts off with excitement and it doesn't stop... Reparation of Sin is the second book of this trilogy and holy hell does it take me on a ride. Situations are resolved, things are answered and new complications arise, and through it all, the spiciness between Ivy and Santiago is off the charts. Hot and passionate one minute cold and bitter the next. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!
